At the website from 'Musik Landschaft Westfalen' we found some nice pictures of the performance of the Oakcity Jazzband at the sunday breakfast concert of this festival. Unusual for us to play our music at a classical music festival. But, we had a lot of fun together, and so the audience was on our hand very soon.
Nice to find this out on the internet! Harrie Hox, president of the commitee: "Looking at the many happy faces and spontaneous reactions , I think our intent is a hit here." The Sittard Orange Committee wants to focus on the elderly residents on 'Koninginnedag' (Queens-day)and make this a tradition.
The visitors were treated an orange bitter and a delicacy. Much attention went to the stalls with art and ancient crafts.
Also the performances of the Oak City Jazz Band from Maaseik (B) were popular. Harrie Hox : "It was touching to see how many older people, especially the wheelchair dependent, were accompanied by (youth) volunteers."

I love it! Vitaliy, Vielen Dank wieder für deine Überraschung!
At the marketplace in Gladbeck we saw a little female victim to have some fun. She was filming us with her camera, but this was unexpected for her! At noon we had a lot of fun in the centre of Gladbeck, convincing people to come to the "Maschinenhalle" to the jazzfestival. We thougth we were at home in Eisden(B)with that same big hall en 2 mine lifts on this area. At each stage change we got the guests outside, where the sun slowly sunk. As usual the women get all our attention, but this time things almost went totally wrong. Those great green eyes of that red-haired young lady put a spell on our banjo player...
Great! On the openingsevening at the Düsseldorfer Jazzrally 2010 (D) we played Tiger Rag on the stage. Maurits (cl) made some arrangements to this tune for the Oakcity Jazzband. This is the video our drummer Franky took of the spontaneous jamsession at the IBIS Hotel in Dresden with musicians of Blue Note Six, Salt River, Lamarotte and -of course- the Oakcity Jazzband. After that session the members of the Oakcity Jazzband were called "die verrukte Belgiër" That means more or less the fools from Belgium. We are very honoured with that title.
The Oakcity Jazzband had the big honour and pleasure to share the stage with the icons of Dixieland "The Dutch Swing College Band" at the Jazz a/d Ruhr Festival in Mülheim (Germany) Together we played "Bill Bailey, won't you please come home. It's wonderful that we could do this!!
